Toll Road 183-A bypass expected to

bring growth to Cedar Park TX

Area's first toll road attracting

several types of developments

Anticipating an economic development boom around one of the region's first toll roads, SLR Design and Development Inc. is planning nearly 100,000 square feet of development in Cedar Park TX.

The Cedar Park-based company is developing 3 projects around the first exit of U.S. Highway 183-A

A 67,000-sf building costing $6 million, Mustang Business Park, will include office, manuf. & industrial space. The park, at the northwest corner of Brushy Creek Road and Cypress Creek Boulevard, already has three potential tenants.

Blue Creek Plaza, a $1 million, 11,600-sq ft building at the NE corner of Blue Ridge Drive and Brushy Creek.

For many years, Williamson County, Cedar Park and Leander Tx have had the brunt of congestion from a crowded Highway 183. The new U.S. 183-A, a rbypass around Cedar Park and Leander, Texas for 183, will be a 11+-mile toll road in Williamson County that will reach from State Hwy 45 to the San Gabriel River.

The completion date for the project is sometime in 2007. Area leaders said the almost $400 million Highway 183A project should create a $1 billion economic impact for Cedar Park and for Leander.

City leaders are gearing up for more development surrounding 183-A. Cedar Park Mayor Bob Antle says that Hill Country Constructors was chosen to design and build the highway. Hill Country Constructors is a venture led by Austin-based J.D. Abrams Inc.

Regional leads have said that 183-A will act as a "lifeline" for the whole Highway 183 corridor.
